The T-34 tank is undoubtedly one of the most famous armored vehicles of World War II and represented the backbone of the Soviet Armed Forces during the conflict. The main innovations that the T-34 introduced were the inclined frontal armor capable of guaranteeing greater protection against the impacts received and the adoption of wide tracks, ideal for obtaining good mobility on any type of terrain. The early T-34s, armed with a short-barreled 76mm gun, immediately gained an operational advantage over the most popular German tanks of the time, such as the Panzer III and Panzer IV. Thanks to its 500 hp 12-cylinder diesel engine, it could reach a top speed of 55 km/h. It is considered by many historians, for operational efficiency, the best tank of World War II.
